Youth Empowerment

Sudhaar foresee on its experience of work that youth have a great love for Pakistan, and they want to do something different for its recognition around the world.  Secondly, young ones believe in solving the problems as a whole, and same is with the youth of marginalized community.  Pakistani youth want to get rid of all the barriers in the way of progress of their beloved country that is “Pakistan”.  Active Citizens programme develop leadership skills in youth from the respective districts. Subsequently, the programme also facilitates community and political participation amongst youth through their gradual interaction linkages with local community and governments.

Sudhaar has 10 years of experience of youth empowerment through implementing four projects with the support of different donors.  Active Citizens is a British Council program in the area of intercultural dialogue and global citizenship with a guiding principle “globally connected, locally engaged”. This project holds significance for Sudhaar due to its commitment towards empowerment of youth by making them realize their rights and responsibilities, as well as to make them learn have a say in the decision making process. Active Citizens worked with facilitators to design and implement social action projects in their respective communities. Five hundred and eighty nine active citizens addressed their unique local priorities through social action projects to help their communities. More than 200 SAPs covering health (mass awareness about dengue and TB), education (enrolment campaign), child rights, human rights, & gender and youth empowerment were launched by active citizens with support of mentors in the society.
