Social Cohesion and Peace Education

Since 2014, Sudhaar has implemented two projects promoting social cohesion, resilience, and peace with support from UNICEF and Creative Associates. These projects focus on youth development, engaging young people through innovative interventions and leveraging sports to foster healthy competition and peace. The collective achievements are as follows;

  1. Initiated dialogues and advocacy with district government, parliamentarians, and Peace Committees.
  2. Supported District Working Groups (DWGs) to engage with government departments and youth.
  3. Fostered social cohesion through consensus building with diverse groups.
  4. Enabled Peace Committees to develop work plans.
  5. Formed youth and adolescent forums, providing leadership training and capacity building.
  6. Enhanced capacity of children, parents, teachers, and community members to prevent and cope with conflict.
  7. Developed linkages between government and non-government actors for information sharing.
  8. Strengthened local suggestion and opinion mechanisms.
  9. Sensitized 240 male youth through life skills and civic education training.
  10. Organized Cricket Peace Cup 2015 with 16 teams (240 players), promoting peace and tolerance.

These efforts promoted social cohesion, peace, and youth development through sports and community engagement.
