Syed Firasat Ali

Firasat Ali Syed Firasat Ali is an economist by qualification. Over the years, he has worked for the World Bank, USAID, ADB and other international organizations. He has done scores of consultancies on financial and social issues. Firasat has also worked for national organizations like PICIC in investments and in the process he was on the board of nearly 20 reputable organizations. Firasat is a strong advocate of change and change management. He believes that Pakistan has a great human resource potential and is poised to play a strategic global role in the near future. He coined Sudhaar’s slogan “A Development Agenda for Change” at its inception.

Fawad Usman Ali Khan

Fawad Usman Ali Electrical engineer by profession and community worker and child rights activist by choice, Fawad founded Sudhaar along with seven other like minded friends and colleagues on July 29, 1994. He worked with private sector in the power engineering sector in planning, load forecasting, MIS and capacity building. He was Sudhaar’s first President and CEO. Stepped down as President in 2001 and as CEO in 2006. Currently working as Director Action Research and Development Cell. His areas of expertise include HRD, planning, M&E, management, documentation and research. He has worked extensively on NFE, formal education, and education planning and child protection.

Salis Usman

Salis Usman Salis is an electrical engineer who has worked with WAPDA for over 25 years in various capacities in power distribution sector. He has served in Saudi Arabia and is currently deputed to SAARC in Islamabad working on Energy Loss Reduction. One of his chief areas of interest is potential of alternative energy sources. Salis has also worked for the social sector organizations in Pakistan developing proposals, M&E systems, management systems and manuals, undertaking training programs and documenting experiences. Salis is a philanthropist and a child rights activist.

Dr. Pervaiz Khalid

Pervaiz Khalid Dr. Pervaiz Khalid is a medical doctor who has served in various capacities for the Local Government in Punjab for nearly three decades. His is trained in urban sanitation and water supply issues. He was instrumental in taking Suhdaar to Kasur in 1994 for its first program to eliminate child labor. He has served Sudhaar in different capacities in program management, donor liaison, management support functions and the organization’s governance structure.

Irum Shariff

Irum Afshar Irum is Masters in Public Administration and also has been to USA for advanced studies on USAID scholarship. Irum’s forte is social and marketing research which she has been doing under the banner of her own organization Marketfacts and also as an independent consultant for more than 30 years. She has extended her services to national and international organizations and multi-nationals working in diverse areas from villages and town to large cities of Pakistan. Irum is recognized as one of the most accomplished primary social and marketing researcher in the country. She is also a philanthropist focusing on girls’ education.

Naweed A. Harooni

Naveed Harooni Worked closely with founding members in shaping up the direction of Sudhaar’s vision and approach of working. By education and profession, Naweed is an engineer and by nature he is a human rights activist. He has done extensive volunteering for human/women rights organizations like War Against Rape, HRCP, and Amnesty International. Worked for "ActionAid Pakistan" and now working in WABA-Malaysia as Program Coordinator on Gender, Women & Work. WABA is an international women rights organization.

Nadeem Fazil Ayaz

blank Nadeem is an engineer and a practicing lawyer. He is one of the foremost human rights activists. He has worked extensively for Human Rights Commission of Pakistan where he got his initial training in activism and knowledge of human rights from various dimensions. He also heads War Against Rape (WAR) in Lahore – he is one of the founding members of the organization’s Lahore chapter. Nadeem’s legal education work extends beyond the national frontiers and he has served on Sudhaar Board for over a decade.

Faisal Anjum

blank Faisal Anjum has worked both on finance and program aspects of social development sector. As the finance head, he managed a US$ 5.0 million program for Sudhaar and ensured the transparency and accountability of this huge amount to the satisfaction of the donor, grantee and external audit. Since 2007, Faisal has been working for several international organizations as their head funding social sector projects and programs. One of his many skills is identifying, nurturing and building local partners to contribute in social development in Pakistan.
